Valentine’s Day is a celebration of the love formed between family and friends. At Kinderland International Preschool @ Toul Tumpong, the children celebrated this friendship in a meaningful way.

The children created crafts and participated in games organised by their teachers to mark the occasion. They eagerly shared their handmade cards with friends, filling the classroom with laughter and excitement as they cheered for their teams during the games.

Beyond the enjoyment, this celebration helped children strengthen their social skills and understand the values of kindness, sharing, and appreciation for one another.

February also highlighted another exciting event—Book Week! This special week aimed to encourage a love for reading among young learners through engaging activities which made literacy fun and interactive.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle, read interactively to attentive children.

During Book Week, Kinderland preschoolers enjoyed a variety of activities, from listening to captivating stories to playing games inspired by the story “Jack and the Beanstalk.” They even dressed up as hungry caterpillars and wore hats resembling the ugly duckling, bringing their favourite tales to life. These activities not only deepened their appreciation for stories but also ignited creativity and imagination.

More than just a celebration, Book Week was a key milestone for the children in their language development, sparking a new interest in books. Through role plays and discussions, children expanded their vocabulary and comprehension skills. Ultimately, this celebration fostered a lifelong love for reading, making it a vital part of early childhood education.
