Spring Festival or Lunar New Year @Toul Kork was a joyful and vibrant event, filled with fun activities, excitement, and cultural appreciation. The children arrived in colourful Chinese costumes, with boys wearing intricately embroidered Tang suits and girls dressed in elegant qipaos. Their festive outfits added to the spirit and exhilaration of the celebration.

The day was packed with engaging games. Nursery class played “Marbles with a Spoon,” where children raced against time to collect marbles for a chance to win a prize. Another group participated in “Roll the Bottle,” a game symbolising wealth and prosperity, where the position of the rolled bottle determined the winner. Both games encouraged friendly competition and much delight.

K1 delighted in cutting and crafting their own unique designs.

K2 showcased their creativity by designing with play dough
Creativity was also displayed as Kindergarten One (K1) children practiced the traditional art of Chinese paper cutting, creating unique designs while developing fine motor skills. Meanwhile, the Kindergarten Two (K2) children enjoyed clay modelling, shaping imaginative figures, and proudly displaying their creations. Each child was rewarded for their artistic efforts.

The highlight of the event was the breathtaking Lion Dance performance. The children watched in awe as the performers, dressed in vibrant lion costumes, showcased their acrobatic skills, leaping and balancing on high posts. The rhythmic beating of drums added to the energy, making the experience even more thrilling.
