At Kinderland, we believe in celebrating both love and diversity. Our recent Mother’s Day and Cultural Appreciation Day at Kinderland International Preschool @ Toul Kork, Phnom Penh, Cambodia, was a perfect example of just that!

Story time by a parent volunteer, Mrs Thea Tan
The event began with a warm welcome from Mr Brenton Toh, our principal, setting the tone for a morning filled with joy, laughter and meaningful connections. A highlight was a special story-time session led by a mother volunteer Mrs Tan, who captivated all the preschoolers with her heartfelt reading. It was a touching moment that reminded us of the powerful bond between mothers and children.

Our talented students then took centre stage with performances that reflected the rich cultural blend at Kinderland. Through presentations from the English, Chinese and Khmer classes, they sang and danced passionately. Each class proudly represented a different country, showcasing the diverse traditions they learn and live every day.

Mothers happily receiving their flowers and handmade gifts made by their children
To honour their mothers, the children presented personalised handmade gifts, lovingly crafted in class and a fresh flower. The joy on each mother’s face was priceless—it was a reminder that the simplest gestures, when made with love, are the most meaningful.
The celebration ended with a lovely bonding session over refreshments, where parents, teachers and children enjoyed relaxed moments of laughter, conversation and connection.

Parents happily watched and enjoyed the preschoolers’ presentations.
This event was more than a celebration—it was an opportunity for mothers to feel deeply appreciated and for children to proudly express their love. Events like this help strengthen our Kinderland community, fostering respect, gratitude and belonging among all families. Here is to the amazing mothers and the beautiful diversity that makes our preschool so special!
